Join us at Columbia Law School on Tuesday, September 19 from 7:00-8:00 pm ET as we celebrate the publication of The Problem of Twelve: When a Few Financial Institutions Control Everything, with the author, Harvard Law Professor John Coates, and an expert panel moderated by Columbia Global Reports Director Nicholas Lemann.

This event is free to attend, and will be at Columbia Law School’s Jerome Green Hall, room 106. A boxed dinner will be served prior to the panel from 6:15-7:00 pm. A Q&A and book signing will follow.

The Problem of Twelve will be available for purchase at the event from Book Culture.

About the panel

John Coates is the John F. Cogan, Jr. Professor of Law and Economics at Harvard Law School, where he also serves as Deputy Dean and Research Director of the Center on the Legal Profession. He is the author of The Problem of Twelve.

Michael Ewens is a David L. and Elsie M. Dodd Professor of Finance at Columbia Business School.

Jeffrey Gordon is Richard Paul Richman Professor of Law, and the co-director of Ira M. Millstein Center for Global Markets and Corporate Ownership at Columbia Law School.

Dorothy Lund is Professor of Law at Columbia Law School.

Nicholas Lemann (moderator) is director of Columbia Global Reports and Dean Emeritus of the Columbia Journalism School. He’s also a staff writer for the New Yorker and the author of several highly acclaimed books.
