What is the global novel? What work covers both the contemporary and the classic? What story spans all cultures and creeds? Perhaps the global novel is not a genre so much as a way of seeing the world.
Adam Kirsch, one of the most prodigious and versatile literary critics working today, asks an important question for our times in his new book: What is the future of fiction in an age of globalization?
He will be in conversation with John Freeman, author, educator, and editor, as well as Laura Marsh, literary editor of the New Republic; formerly an editor at the New York Review of Books. The discussion will be moderated by Chris Jackson, publisher and editor-in-chief of the One World imprint of Random House.
