Nicholas Lemann, Director
Nick is Dean Emeritus of Columbia Journalism School and currently a professor at the school. In addition, he is a staff writer for The New Yorker and author of several highly acclaimed books, including Transaction Man: The Rise of the Deal and the Decline of the American Dream, Redemption: The Last Battle of the Civil War; The Big Test: The Secret History of the American Meritocracy; and The Promised Land: The Great Black Migration and How It Changed America.
Camille McDuffie, Publisher
Camille was President of Goldberg McDuffie Communications, the literary public relations firm, for many years and worked with a range of high-profile authors. In addition, she represented The Library of America, The National Book Awards, and The Whiting Writers’ Awards as well as several magazine launches. Most recently, she served as a consultant and strategist for their clients.
Jimmy So, Editor
Jimmy was recently an editor at Newsweek and The Daily Beast, where he directed book and film coverage. His work has appeared in The New Yorker online and the Chronicle of Higher Education. He was a news anchor and senior editor at TVB and ATV in Hong Kong, and graduated from Columbia Journalism School, where he was awarded a Pulitzer traveling fellowship for his arts reporting.
Allison Finkel, Assistant Director of Marketing
Allison Finkel was a Senior Marketing Manager for seven years at Basic Books, where she worked on a wide range of nonfiction titles and handled many marketing campaigns for the feminist publishing house Seal Press. Allie started her publishing career at Oxford University Press. She grew up in Los Angeles and is a graduate of Boston University.
